- Students who complete a program lasting less than 8 months are not eligible for a Post Study Work Visa.

- Students who complete a program lasting 2 years or more are eligible for a Post Study Work Visa for a duration of 3 years.

To be eligible to work while studying in Canada, students must hold a study permit that authorizes them to work on or off-campus for up to 20 hours per week during academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks, without the need for a separate work permit. The program the student is pursuing must be at a Designated Learning Institution and must last at least 6 months, leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
Many programs in Canada include co-op and internship opportunities that allow students to gain industry experience related to their field of study. Co-ops are typically paid and last for a semester or more, while internships can last between 15 days to 30 days and may or may not be paid.
