Here’s how you have a smooth journey to study abroad in the UK.

Before the departure:

1. Thoroughly read all information emails from the University: Arrival information, student login details, term start dates, extensions, online, onshore, blended learning and other academic matters.
2. Book your accommodation: It is always a good idea to book accommodation before leaving India. Students can opt for:
   

• University accommodation
• Private accommodation
• Temporary accommodation

3. Take a COVID-19 test 3 days prior to travelling to the UK: Currently, the UK Government has introduced a requirement for all international travellers to the United Kingdoms to have a negative RT-PCR report, not more than 72 hours old. This applies to all transport routes, including planes, passenger ferries and Eurostar trains. Passengers attempting to travel without a negative RT-PCR could be denied boarding.
   
4. Book and pay in advance for COVID-19 test to be taken after arriving in the UK: Take a COVID -19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8. The amount ranges from 179 -200 pounds.
5. Fill out the online passenger locator form: Students must complete a passenger locator form online before departure. It should be submitted online via UKVI website 48 hours prior to the travel dates. Students will need to provide this document at the time of check-in. 6. Carry all the important documents: Visa, passport, flight tickets, confirmation of acceptance of studies (CAS), all academic documents, BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) collection information, travel ticket, travel insurance, currency/Forex card, accommodation address, contact telephone number and email id of the concerned person from the University.

On arrival in the UK

1. Self-Quarantine at home for 10 days: Students will need to self-isolate for 10 days on arrival due to COVID-19. The 10-day period is counted from the day you leave a country. In England, if you do not self-isolate in accordance with the rules, you can receive a fixed penalty notice of £1,000 for the first offence, increasing to £2,000 for the second offence. Take the COVID – 19 test on 2nd day and 8th day.
2. Collect the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP): Students will need to collect the BRP either from the University or the Post Office address given at the time of visa application. Collect it after finishing the 10-day self-quarantine period.
