Post Study Work Rights in Canada

The most common route taken by Indian students in Canada to reside in the country after graduation is the post-graduation work permit (PGWP). For this, a student needs to have studied at a designated learning institution (DLI) as endorsed and accredited by the Canadian government.

Please note – Not all programs are eligible. Students are required to check with the study abroad consultants at Unixperts before applying.

Here’s the procedure:

  • Graduating from a DLI does not mean that you are automatically eligible to get a PGWP.
  • After getting the final marks, a candidate has 180 days to apply for a PGWP.
  • You need to make sure that your study permit does not expire before you get your final marks.

Students can get up to 3 years of post-study work permit, depending upon the duration of the course they choose in Canada.
